Candy Kingdom Defense Beginner’s Guide

Start a match and upgrade your defense

Choose Finn or Jake as your first hero. Finn fights with melee attacks, while Jake can extend his punch across a lane. Placing heroes and upgrading them costs gold earned by defeating enemy waves.

1. Select a hero card from the hotbar and place the hero on valid ground.
2. Defeat waves to earn gold for more placements and upgrades.
3. Select a placed hero and choose Upgrade, or press Z.

Build your squad between attempts

The Treasure Hoard chest in the Tree Fort provides new characters through gem summons on rotating banners. Equip up to six heroes, defend with your squad, and invest rewards in later attempts.

Feeding develops a hero in your collection. It is separate from buying an upgrade for a placed hero during a match. If the hero you want to feed is on your active team, unequip it first, then re-equip it after feeding.

1. In the Tree Fort, open the Items menu and select Feed Hero.
2. Choose the hero and confirm the food items or duplicate units.

Choose a way to play

Story offers five worlds and 25 stages, with solo play or squads of up to four players. Infinite Mode challenges you to survive endless waves. Dungeon Train Challenges are difficult encounters that reward evolution materials and upgrade resources.
